Grapevine Aphid on Grapes

Grapevine aphid (Aphis illinoisensis) is a native pest that is easily recognized by its dark color, pear-shaped body, and two tailpipe-like cornicles on its abdomen. It feeds in colonies with piercing-sucking mouthparts, removing sap from leaves and shoots. It is occasionally found in vineyards, but it is rarely a serious pest.
