Return to Insects
Speckled green fruitworm (Orthosia hibisci) larvae are green with numerous white or blue flecks, a thin light colored stripe down the middle of the back and a wider stripe along each side of the body. Larvae are robust and can reach 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches when fully grown. Eggs (1/15 of an inch diameter) are grayish white and hemispherical with ridges that radiate out from the center.
